Get Dirty Money Out of Politics
Zoe has always believed we should get dirty money out of politics. We all know that financial support plays a central role in determining whose voices are heard in the political process and that the outsized influence of dirty money is a pervasive problem. As a Vice Chair of the Democracy Reform Task Force, Zoe has been actively engaged on efforts to increase transparency in campaign spending and to reduce the influence of special interests in politics, including overturning the Citizens United decision.
Throughout her career, Zoe has refused to accept campaign contributions from the NRA, fossil fuel companies, predatory lenders, and gambling interests. Its past time for other Members of Congress and candidates to join Zoe in pledging to reject support from these industries and special interests that profit from doing harm to our communities and our environment.
